KISS Guitarist Gets Holiday Side Gig

Online store support gig helps fund his lavish lifestyle.

Paul Stanley, best known as rhythm guitarist and co-lead vocalist for rock band Kiss, had a problem. “The concert season wraps up by early December, and the royalty checks don’t usually come in until February,” observed Stanley. “Meanwhile, my makeup bill is through the roof and the utility bill’s not paying itself.”

To make ends meet, he got a seasonal gig at the Kiss online store.

When this reporter started changing the lyrics to songs to match this career change, Stanley was unimpressed. “‘I want to solve shipping issues all night and ship parcels every day’? What are you, a moron?”

“I was made for overnight shipping,
You were made for buying shirts” – additional alternate lyrics by this reporter that were under-appreciated by Stanley

“There is great dignity in serving the people. You could say rhythm guitar is the support desk of a rock band. You could say that. It’d be kind of a stupid thing to say, but you could say that.”
