“Now THAT’s what I call a lunch box!” laughed actor Johnny Quick, while reading the opening line of the opening episode of this heartwarming comedy that hopes to trivialize the real horrors of sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and pedophilia. “Want my banana?”
Quick plays a school crossing guard who doesn’t just cross streets, but also unacceptable social norms that constrain love in one of its purest manifestations.
“Know what that red hand sign means, little Bobby?” Quick’s character asks in one poignant scene. “Handjob time!” When Bobby quicken his pace away from Quick, he responds, “You don’t have the walk sign! Handjob!”
“Pedophile Pete” is a tasteful and sympathetic look at love in its purest form.
